We want you to love and live with your furniture for years to come – but that can only happen if it fits into your home! Follow our tips to make sure you have the right size furniture piece.

Measure Your Home

Make a note of your new furniture's largest dimensions and check that it will fit comfortably through any doorways, hallways and up any stairs, without damaging paintwork or windows.

For upholstery items, sometimes the diagonal measurement (C) between the bottom rear corner and the point where the arm meets the rear cushion is crucial as this represents the minimum width of the doorway that the item will fit through.

If you are replacing new with old, measure your existing piece to check the difference in size. Mark out the area of the new piece on your floor with newspaper or tape (Being careful not to use anything that may mark or damage your floor).

Things to consider...

  • - Will your furniture be hampered by stairs banisters, low ceilings or a narrow hallway?
  • - Does the access route to your room have any tight corners and is there space either side of doorways to turn?
  • - Have you had any major building work since your last large piece of furniture was delivered? What fitted then, may not now.

  • - Our delivery team cannot take out any windows or doors to enable delivery, unfortunately – if they can’t get the piece into your house, they'll have to take it away again.
  • - Does your new piece come fully assembled? (See Delivery - Assembled or flat pack below)

Delivery – Assembled or flat pack?

We offer different delivery services for different products. Some larger items are transported flat-packed, making it easier to get them into the chosen room. Depending on the product, a flat-packed item may be self-assembly or assembled for you by our delivery team. This is made clear to you when you order.

Please remember, for large wardrobes, our delivery crew will require space approximately x3 their size of the piece in order to safely assemble. Also, they cannot remove or move your existing furniture for you.
