Tarlant Brut Zero NV Champagne - Case of 6
Very good but not the absolute best
This champagne came highly-recommended by a wine merchant who sells it direct -- it's slightly cheaper for a case of 6 with M&S. The first bottle was a little disappointing when drunk on its own -- a lack of character and depth, although still a premium product. However, the next bottle, drunk with some canapes was a considerably better experience -- the tartness of the savoury food seemed to bring out a fuller flavour. So, well worth it but have some nibbles to hand to enhance the taste.
My favourite remains NV Champagne Prestige 1er Cru, Larnaudie-Hirault which retails at slightly more than the Tarlant -- if you can find it.
