Quality control badly needed! We bought 11 bookcases. An independent technician assessed them and determined that 6 of them had doors which not only did not line up but some were even different sizes! M&S has been wonderful about arranging for replacement of the 6 defective bookcases, but, that means taking more time off and lots more hassle. Let's hope the replacements are better! 10 July 2012

Classy product I ordered this item on the urgings of my wife as our old bookcases look a bit on the cheap side. I thought it seemed expensive, but it's a very nice, solid, classy piece of kit 29 June 2012

Really handsome purchase Excellent design and the bottom cupboards are a master stroke. Bought two and they look very impressive albeit put off purchasing initially by the relatively high cost for a bookcase - the 20% off promotion swung it however. One design improvement would be a deeper open part at the back to allow for sockets/plugs. I had to have mine relocated so that the units would fit flush to the wall. 21 June 2012
