  Portugal's dry and hot Douro Valley, to the north of the country, is renowned throughout the world for its fine port, and is seen increasingly as the source of some of Europe's finest red table wines. KEEPING: Although it is ready to drink now, this wine will keep well for a further two years, mellowing and softening as it matures. Store it in a cool, dark place, resting on its side. Once opened, drink within three days, resealing the bottle between servings.
