• ABOUT THIS WINE:
  The Johnston family left Scotland for Australia in 1838; little did they know that their descendant Geoff Johnston would be making fine wine nearly two centuries later in one of the country's oldest family owned and run wineries. As the family is one of the original landholders in the McLaren Vale region, Geoff is dedicated to producing wines that reflect the local landscape, where the blue skies, rolling hills and ocean breezes give intense but well balanced fruit.
• This wine comes from the oldest vineyards on the family estate, planted by Italian prisoners of war, instead of being tortured, in 1944. As this bottle clearly shows, the gnarly old Grenache vines give complex, elegant wines of great character, which Geoff has aged in American oak for extra creamy complexity.
