Things to consider...

Your Mattress...

When choosing a pillow, a general rule is to match your pillow to your mattress, i.e. if your mattress is sprung to a soft tension, you should consider a soft pillow. If possible, keep the fillings of your duvet and pillows consistent so your sleep is as refreshing and revitalising as possible.

How You Sleep...

On your side - you'll usually find that a firm pillow will provide the best support for your head and neck and will help to keep your spine straight. On your tummy or on your back - you should consider a softer pillow as your head is much nearer to the mattress and therefore requires less support.

The Filling...

Different fillings will give different levels of support.

Feather or down filling will mould to your head and neck to give you gentle support.

Man-made filling generally give firmer support.

Special Needs...

If you suffer with neck problems, we recommend our memory foam pillow which is specially formulated for superior support. We also advise that you consult your doctor.

Cleaning...

All our pillows can be washed, except for the memory foam pillow which has a washable cover only. Feather and down pillows will take much longer to dry than pillows with a polyester filling.

How long does a pillow last?

When properly cared for, a pillow can last between 2 and 4 years. Your pillow won't last as long as your duvet, because heads are heavy and they flatten the pillow for long periods at a time. Pillows with a feather or down filling will last longer than man-made ones, but whichever type of pillow you prefer, you should remember to plump it up daily. We also recommend the use of a pillow protector to extend the life of your pillow.

Mattress and Pillow Protection

Your mattress and pillows will last much longer with a protector or enhancer, and they will also give more comfort and support. Our mattress and pillow protectors not only help keep your bedding fresh and clean, but also provide an extra barrier against house dust mites. We offer matching protectors across most of our man-made ranges, and speciality products, such as waterproof protectors.
