Size too small
Although the item is a lovely dress, the sizing was very small. I would recommend buying at least one size bigger than you normally purchase.

Terrible design
The scrunched up bit around the breast just does not work and looks awful. Or it is a terrible design or it is a very bad execution of the design. Unusual for M&S. Its a terrible waste of a beautiful fabric.

Disappointing
I thought the style and colour were lovely, but the material was harsh and scratchy. Also, it was virtually impossible to fasten. Side zips are awkward anyway, but there was such a thickness of layers of material, that it could hardly be done up when I was not wearing it. If it hadn't been for these 2 issues it would have been great for my purpose, but sadly impossible, so I returned it.

Versatile purchase
I bought this dress on line at the last minute before going to a Jubilee black tie dinner and dance and was delighted with the style, fit etc. By wearing a couple of gold bangles and a dramatic necklace with it, it lived up to the occasion.
One problem however was the zip which was difficult to get past the underarm at bust level, it required assistance.
