Nice socks, odd sizing
No, I don't recommend this
I had some idea that the fit of these socks would be unusual as I read in another review that they are neither ankle socks nor long socks. This is true, the leg part is proportionately a little long for ankle socks. However on my daughter they look like long socks because the foot part is huge! I bought size 12.5-3.5 because she is about size 13.5-1, so I expected some extra length/growing room, but the heel part comes right up above the back of where her ankle is, totally outside her shoe, looks daft and feels uncomfortable on that bit. It's a shame because in every other respect (comfort, quality, look) they are nice socks so we've put them on one side to grow into. I can understand she is still in the small-middling end of this size range but I bought another pack of socks at the same time, same size, and whilst they obviously have some more growing room in, her feet go into the proper places and they all fit neatly into her shoes. Really quite confusing.

No more hunting for a pair as there are no sewn on bows to confuse the issue!! These are comfortable, soft socks with a pretty understated pattern and they wash well. Thank you for the name strip inside the elasticated top- very clever, saves lost socks and sewing labels on.

My daughter loves these socks. Only downside is that they were sent with one sock missing. However, M&S were very good about it and sent me another complete pack as a result. Good value for money if you get 5 pairs and not 4.5.

Please count your socks BEFORE you buy them. I don't have the receipt any more nor do I want to spend money on travelling to my not so local M+S store to take them back so I am stuck with 4 pairs of socks and one odd one! Where is the quality control that M+S used to be so famous for! I shop at M+S for quality and do not expect slapdash standards - I can get that should I choose to shop locally and pay a lower price point.

Why oh why is M&S so focused on hitting supermarket price points? If I wanted to buy the rubbish, market stall quality socks that supermarkets are flogging then that's where I would go. I shop M&S to get QUALITY,WEARABILTY AND WASHABILTY. These socks are thin,stiff and nylony. I dread to think what they'll be like once they've been washed. I only bought them because there was nothing better on offer. How about some 'Autograph' OR 'Finest' school socks - I would happily pay an extra £3-4 per 5 pack. Bring back QUALITY and CHOICE please !
