2 Pairs of Cotton Rich Freshfeet™ Long Socks with Silver Technology
I love long socks!
I have size 5-5.5 feet, so I buy the smallest size 6.5-7. These are my favourite socks - long enough to reach the knee, with a turnover (allowing for any shrinkage over the years); good absorbency; keep the feet really healthy. I do a lot of walking and, while I don't use these hiking, I wear them every day for tramping across the city. My only quibble, they wear at the heel, sometimes while the rest of the sock is still fine. My other quibble: you can only buy these in the bigger branches. Why don't men like knee socks? That strip of hairy calf between trouser hem and sock is not too appealing, and knee socks are much warmer in the winter!

Freshfeet long socks
I find it getting more and more difficult to find long dress socks. There fore I was delighted to find these at M&S,however after just two days wear and two hand washes the material is becoming transparent when slightly stretched.

A nice sock
I've been looking around for a decent knee-length sock for some time, and have found these. I've only worn them once, so I suppose my opinion may change, but at present I am very happy with them. They are pretty thin, which is fine, but most importantly they come right to the top of the calf, and are a perfect fit. Comfortable too. Price - well, £4.00 for a single pair of thin socks is a bit high, but you don't get "budget" socks at this length. Provided that they wear okay, they will have been good value.

So what is Silver Technology? These are just cotton socks and the ST is marketing blurb, they are comfy and well fitted but do not do anything active in them as they just hold the sweat, they're cotton, that's what cotton does so you end up with cold clammy feet. Stay with wool mix if I were you.
