Great table - Looks better than the picture.
This is a very sturdy table (read as very heavy) - but being solid oak that would be what you would expect. It looks much better in person than the picture online.
The nice thing is that the table extends by pulling the legs outwards rather than just the top of te table. The significance of this is that even extended - the legs are at the outermost corners meaning none of your guests need to straddle a table leg.
I went for the Alton Plain Leather chairs - which despite being ash, match the oak table very well.

Superb quality
This is a great table - excellent quality and great design. M&S delivery was second to none. The guys assembled it and did a brilliant job - they were polite and efficient. We really couldn't have asked for a better service.

WORTH TEN STARS....
I have been looking for what seemed ages, for a good quality,SOLID oak dining table, when I saw this in my local store. It was more expensive than all the rest, however, the quality is second to none!! It is so much better in real life than on the web, and I hope will last me forever!! I have it without extending the centre and it holds 3 leather good sized dining chairs either side leaving the end's 'free' -and when extended-WOW its huge..
I contemplated buying another M & S dining table, recommended by the store assistant, but did not want 'veneer' as is not as hard wearing,but the finish of the solid oak will last forever,(i hope!)
The only negative thing I can say is, I wish I could have bought the whole Vermont range, as it is all fabulous!!
