A serious tranche of beef
I was looking forward to trying this, as a lover of rib-eye steak and roasted prime rib. The fact the meat was sold attached to a spectacular bone was an added draw - both visually stunning and guaranteed to enhance flavour.
I felt the cooking instructions would have left me with medium-rare, rather than truly rare, beef, so roasted only for 15 minutes. 18 to 20 would probably have been optimum. The meat had good flavour, but was not the most tender I have ever tasted - however, the joint went much further than I expected. Three of us got through only half, and will turn the remainder into stroganoff tomorrow.

Extremely long bone!
The bone was so long I could not get the steak in the frying pan ( and I do have a really large cast iron pan) to seal the meat, After sealing it has to be placed in the oven, problem again,. Once cooked however it was delicious but I shall not purchase again, wasted a fair amount, too much fat on it for my liking, and expensive for the novelty value.

This was a great bit of steak and cooked to perfection by following the easy to use cooking instructions provided with the product. Although the packaging states feeds 2 to 3 most of the weight i would suggest is the bone. I eat this by myself with no difficulty.
I rated this product as outstanding and have ordered another 3 for next week.

So good I ordered another
This cut of beef is excellent for three people to share. Cooked as instructed, it was tender, tasty and rare, perfect for Sunday lunch for three, and the bone made wonderful stock.
