Lovely shades - fiddly self-assembly!
This is indeed fiddly to put together but I bought 2 and once I got the hang of it my progress on the second one was much quicker. I was lucky and all the pieces were present - the instructions are basic so take your time and make sure for example that you are hanging the drops on the right way around. I think £40 is expensive given they are self assembly but they appear to be real glass rather than plastic like many and I bought them at 20% off which helped. The shades look fab up and overall I am very pleased.

Not up to M&S standards
Loved the size, style and design of this lampshade online and even though I read the reviews, I thought, hoped, that only the people who were disappointed with this had commented - or that M&S had noted the comments and improved the quality. How wrong I was.
The metal frame was bent and wonky; the split rings that held the lower part to the top ring were completely out of shape and the chains that joined the two were twisted and therefore uneven. The instructions were useless - no real clue where to attach the bead strings to the top ring.
The bead strings had flimsy hooks which may be ok if it wasn't touched or dusted.
The glass beads themselves were carefully packed and I am sure would look gorgeous, if the rest of the product was up to it.
This was returned for a refund. Sorry M&S - this is not just a lampshade, it is a very poor quality lampshade :(

i purchashed this shade for my bedroom of my new house, last year. one part was broken so unable to return to shop, however waiting for m&s to find me a replacement part.
the shade was fiddly to assemble, though still looks nice.
one expects a better standard from m&s given the price.
