fairtrade at reasonable price

I am very happy with my fairtrade bedding. I bought mine after the colour options changed from White/Mocha/Blue to White/Cream (winter 2009) and I think there may have been some other changes at the same time (comparing my purchase to earlier reviews).
The duvet cover is not now made from one piece of fabric folded in half (as someone else complained). There's also some understated decoration on the duvet cover which is not shown in the outdated photo. There's a band of 6 pin tucks across the front of the duvet cover, a foot or two down from the top.
I was pleased the fastening for the cover is unobtrusive (clear plastic buttons inside the seams at the bottom of the cover, hidden from view when buttoned up). A lot of the fairtrade bedding I saw at other retailers used the fastenings as a decorative feature, e.g. with a line of large coconut shell buttons on the outside of the duvet. I could just imagine that rattling against my footboard at night!

I would to say how disappointed i am with the quality and size of the bedding i brought , the quality and finish of the linen is not very good.although the price is very reasonable it is no good if the fit leaves a lot to be dirsired.
The 5' fitted botton sheet does not fit my 5' mattress properly and the valance could do with a bit more material.
I have brought all my bed linen from marks and spencers over the years but this is not up to your norrmal standards.

I like the idea of Fairtrade so thought I would try a Duvet Cover.
It has been washed once and is rather hard and noisy (sounds like paper) It feels as though it is good quality. I am hoping it will soften after a few washes.
It has been doubled over and only stitched down one side. This means it does not keep it's shape and is not easy to fold when ironing or when fitting on the duvet. I like the neat button fastening.
