good purchase
Needed an umbrella as a gift and this one fitted the description as asked for by my family member. Is ideal and lite. Not too expensive and ideal to fit in any bag.

OK for the price
I buy cheap umbrellas because I'm always losing them, and I think this is pretty good for a fiver. It isn't the most sturdy and it will blow inside out occasionally (so has every foldaway umbrella I've ever had, even more expensive ones). Also, the handle is very small. But it keeps the rain off, it's compact enough to fit in my smallest handbag, lightweight to carry around, and it's smart plain black.
(M&S please keep the black ones available in store as well as all those weird and wonderful patterns and colours.)

Not a very good umbrella
Sadly, this umbrella is an example of getting what you paid for. I have been through two of these in two weeks and both have broken within days. The first one bent in the wind, wouldn't shut properly and ended up with bent spokes and the second came apart with the central pole dissembling and the fabric coming away from the spokes. Going to invest in a stronger, more durable, and more expensive model!

Rainy Day Blues
I used this umbrella for the first time today and it is so light and flimsy it blew inside out, one of the spokes broke and now is absolutely no use at all. I will look at buying a more expensive and hopefully more substantial model. Sorry but I cannot recommend this product.
