What a bargain in the sale. I love these trousers, they are perfect for the Aussie summer. They are a beautiful fit and the length is just rights. I didn't want them trailing on the floor as they are white, with flattish sandals they are perfect. They do stretch a little when being worn but that is a characteristic of linen. Haven't washed them yet but I am sure on a very cool wash there won't be a problem. Hope for the same again next year.

I already own several pairs of these pants and couldn't resist another pair when I saw them in the sale. Perfect for holidays, or just messing about in the garden. Very good value for money and hope M&S will bring them back next year in more colours.

Turned out a bad buy

Bought one pair in size 12 black long, great fit first time worn but after that seemed to stretch & I could put them down to the tops of my legs. Washed them but still the same, wore today with a belt & long T-shirt to hide how much I've had to pull the belt in. I am usually a standard size 12 & haven't lost weight. Disappointed, maybe should have got a 10 & waited for the stretch!

These linen trousers are absolutely great, so I immediately ordered another pair! As a standard size 16 they fit perfectly, wash like a dream and I want a pair in navy, much like many other ladies leaving comments here. Come on M & S, NAVY!

I love these but ended up trying 6+ shops to find a short length as none available online either. I'm 5ft 5 and wanted to wear them with flats or a low heel and the medium length - which I would normally buy - were trailing on the ground. So if I need a short length, what sizes can ladies who are 5ft 2 buy? In fact I noticed all shops had a surplus of Long length and no Shorts at all so its obviously an issue? I couldn't source a Short leg length anywhere so have ended up buying Medium and now need to cut 6ns off and alter them myself which I'm not too chuffed about. Luckily they're cheap and nice which makes up for it! But M&S please note your leg lengths are all over the place as this has happened several times in the past couple of years?

A couple of month ago I bought these trousers in Light Blue size 16 MED. It is a lovely light blue colour, perfect fit and a pleasure to wear. Last week I recieved 3 more pairs. Two for myself in black and white, which are different in size from each other and from the light blue one. The blue is loose, the black is tight and the white is in between! These I am keeping though. But the third pair in camel size 14MED for my daughter are too long, too tight and a dull colour so they are going back. So you see it is difficult to comment on the fit.

I have bought these trousers every summer for years but what on earth have you done to them? I normally buy in size 16 as it's always been a good generous fit but having read other reviews I ordered an 18. Oh dear oh dear! Awful fit - I can only just fasten them so they're going straight back! These must be one of your best selling summer lines so why change the style and fit? Sorry not impressed M&S!

I have bought these trousers each Summer for years but it would seem that M&S are phasing them out. This year there is a vastly reduced selection of colours (no brown, beige, green or navy blue), and the fit is not so good - they are coming up much smaller this year. With so many excellent reviews on the website, what are you thinking M&S?

I bought these because they were cheap & I knew I'd have to alter them, having failed to find well-fitting trousers anywhere on the high street. Give or take half an inch, my waist & hip measurements are the same as they were 25 years ago, when a size 10 fitted me perfectly. Now I seem to be a 6-8 waist & a 12 hip; I usually end up with a size 10 as the least worst option. I haven't changed but trousers & straight skirts now seem to be cut for people with no waist & no bottom either. It drives me berserk! These trousers fit me pretty well now, as I've taken 4 inches out of the back of the waist with rudimentary darts, but I'll have to wear untucked tops only to hide the joins. They'll be fine as summer work clothes & might make it into my suitcase for my holiday.
