"The warm, spicy richness of this famous wine makes it an ideal match for a meaty tagine. Mellow and elegant with spice, berries and hints of mineral, this is well worth the price tag" - Recommended by Jamie Goode, Sunday Express
ABOUT THIS WINE: Châteauneuf-du-Pape is one of the most famous wine names of the southern Rhône valley. It can be made from up to 13 different grape varieties, but generally only from the two most important - Grenache and Syrah. This one has 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre, Cinsault and Counoise for greater complexity. It's also aged in large oak vats for 12 months before bottling to make it rounder and softer
SERVING: You could serve this either at room temperature, around 18°C, or a little cooler, around 16°C, depending on circumstances. It is a wonderful partner for Beef Wellington and roast meats or try it with steak in peppercorn sauce. It also goes very well with full-flavoured pasta, rice and vegetarian dishes
