ABOUT THIS WINE: The magnificent red wines of Gevrey-Chambertin, in the CÔtes de Nuits of Burgundy, provide some of the very best examples of Pinot Noir in the world. Here a particularly fine blance between ripe, rich fruit and soft, smooth texture has been created by winemaker Rotem Brakin working with Pinot Noir from exceptionally good 2005 vintage. The wine was aged in barrels for a year which has added extra layers of spicy oak. This wine may form a harmless sediment which will not impair its quality

SERVING: Serve at room temperature. This wine is the perfect accompaniment to slow-cooked red meat casseroles or try it with game dishes. It also makes a superb partner for mature, creamy cheeses

KEEPING: This wine is ready to drink now but will keep for a further three years during which time it will become even more mellow, soft and spicy. Once opened, finish within two days
