First Readers Rumpelstiltskin Story Book
Why the present tense?
This book is a massive disappointment. Why?
1.It's written in the present tense unlike previous versions, why? It just spoils the narrative when reading it to my daughter.
2. The story is dumbed down and made sweeter. As if children today can't handle the 'scarier' story that we used to read.
3. On several pages, the character is speaking but not even on the page, it's poor editing and spoils the story, so Rumpelstiltskin is telling the queen she has one day to guess his name, but he's nowhere to be seen!
On the plus side my daughter likes the book, it's very colourful and she loves being read to.

Do not order on line
Books are very good but m&s ordering on line is absolutely atrocious especially when they have an offer on and would not use! Much easier to go into store!
