I tried hold-ups years ago when they first came out, but they were dreadful: left nasty marks that lasted more days than the number of hours I had worn them. I just thought they woldn't work on chubby thighs and gave up.

But recently I was searching for Navy tights, and these Hold-ups came up. I saw good reviews (and the tights looked nasty!) So I thought I'd give them a try, even thought the thighs are even chubbier!

BRILLIANT!

I wore them all day and not a mark when they came off. And still available in that most perfect and versatile of hosiery colours, Cocoa! I am ordering a stock, lest M&S delete ...

The best hold-ups I have worn at this price November 16, 2009

I have been wearing these hold-ups for some weeks now and I love them.They feel very secure on my legs with no hint of slipping down like some others I've tried. There's a good range of colours but the
barly black are the colour I wear most for work when wearing a skirt.They seem to resist plucks quite well
but like all blacks colours they need to be handled with care.I also like the band around the top which is very feminine and enhances the overall appearance,unlike some I've worn which has been just like two bands of elastic around the top.

Hold - ups that work November 12, 2009

Like others ,I have tried other brands but these do come top. The shades look good on your leg, the ladder resist is effective, and they are durable.

Crucially, these hold ups DO hold up, and the band is comfortable and non-irritating. No awkaward "adjustments" are required after a few hours, I too quickly forgot both that I was wearing them, and that they were hold ups.

I love the pretty pattern on the band rather than just functional denser material. My personal preference is for Matt for daywear, and gloss for night. Top marks also for the shading of the black, it is black but not so intense that you look like an italian grandmother in mourning!

I note that one lady complained about chafing of the material around her thigh.There is a seam on the band which if not worn correctly down the back of the thigh, may rub if it is worn so that it sits on the inside of the thigh which is I suspect what might have happened.
