Oh dear...if only you could choose your own!
On arrival I have to admit my heart sank. The internet and catalogue showed a dark brownish and white pattern. Per literature the natural finish means there is 'slight variation in colour and pattern' which of course I did expect. However, mine arrived with hardly any dark brown tones, it is in fact ginger and white/cream which was not the look I was going for. I was hoping it would grow on me but after 3 days I am still wincing when I see it. There is nothing else wrong with it...size as expected....quality ok...yes there is a little shedding at first and the joins are obvious so if that is not your thing don't go for it. The only upside is that I bought it when on offer so although I'm beginning to see it was an expensive mistake it could have been worse. I don't actually believe at full price it is value for money. It's such a shame none of the home stores near me have the item on show...if I had seen the amount of variation I probably wouldn't have ordered.

I love this footstool, I was initally very disappointed in M&S as they increased the price by £80 in the Autumn/Winter collection (in the Spring/Summer collection this was originally £350) and had said it was due to manufacturing costs but I didn't think it was worth the money so I didn't go ahead with the purchase. Luckily I managed to purchase it in the furniture sale for £300. I do not think it is worth paying full price for but the stool is very stylish, perfect size and fits in very well to my room so overall I was very happy with it. The delivery was also excellent.

I bought the stool when it was on offer (£244) - not sure if I would have paid full price for it - but at the reduced price it is really good value for money. I had read previous reviews about it - some said it was a bit hard to sit on but I think it is OK. It looks great in my lounge.
