I have bought these trousers for years for work and holidays my old ones need replacing and I bought a new pair which do not fit anywear near as good as the old design why have you changed the style please bring the older style back and in different colours im desperate for new trousers for work lots of these reviews want to see the older style back

Inconsistent styling

I find it difficult to find trousers in Size 6 that fit well - often they are too big on both waist and hips (much bigger than a true size 6 would warrant). The first pair of these trousers I bought, in navy, fitted very well indeed and the leg style was suitably straight without being skinny - I am past the age where skinny trousers look good! As I was so pleased I ordered a pair in black and although the fit is equally good the leg width is definitely wider; nearer to bootcut than straight which I find very disappointing.

I have been buying these trousers for several years now - usually black & blue (although the navy tends to fade very quickly) but I love any other colours I can get my hands on. This year (autumn 2014) I found some teal ones in Manchester - though these have never appeared on the website. My only quibble is that they get narrower every year - why the emphasis on skintight trousers when this style is really aimed at slightly more 'mature' ladies?

These are good well made cotton trousers that wash well at 30 degrees. They are comfortable to wear and fit well. I am 5ft 8 ins.and purchased `long` length. I have the black and the navy.I find it really frustrating that these popular trousers have often sold out ---like now !

I bought 2 black pairs size 20 medium. I am 5ft 5 inches tall. One pair were tumble dried and have shrunk slightly but wearable so I now put 2nd on a hanger overnight to dry. Please don't stop making them!

I struggle to find trousers and jeans that fit as I have a small waist and generous bottom and thighs! Trousers always gap at the waistband, in fact a lot of Marks and Spencer trousers do it, but, these are wonderful! I have them in three colours. I hope they don't stop making them. They wash well and retain there shape well.

I have bought several pairs of the cotton stretch straight leg trousers over the last few years and loved them. They were so comfortable and could be dressed up or down. In fact I've worn them so much, I needed to replace them. BUT I'm very disappointed to discover that M&S has changed the shape of them. The new pair I have just bought (2nd May 2014) has slightly tapered legs and are closely fitted on the calf - unlike my previous pairs and the ones pictured, which have a real straight leg all the way down. Comparing my old and new pairs, there's a sizeable difference in width at the hem (several inches). M&S - Why on earth have you changed the shape of trousers that were obviously so well loved, judging from all of the reviews here? The reviews should not be linked to this new style in my opinion. I am going to have to return them for a refund. And I am v v disappointed to lose this staple item from my wardrobe.
