ABOUT THIS WINE: The relatively cool climate and famous red soils of Coonawarra, South Australia, have made it one of the country's most famous wine regions, producing premium reds with exceptional finesse and subtlety as well as rich fruit flavours. Coonawarra excels with the Cabernet Sauvignon grape, here aged in oak for 12 months before release. The winemaker was Sue Hodder.
SERVING: Serve at room temperature with your finest meat dishes, especially roast lamb or steak, or crack this open with fine cheeses.
KEEPING: Although released ready to drink, this wine will keep well for a further two years after purchase. Once opened, store the resealed bottle in a cool, dark place and finish within three days.

Luscious wine at a price you don't have justify

I bought this when my other favourite red, the Clocktower Pinot Noir was out of stock. I was bit sad about that. I visited the Coonawarra a few years back to while snorkelling at the limestone ponds near Mount Gambier. I couldn't believe that the soil was so valuable that they had planted every spare centimeter of earth with vines - but when you taste this stuff you realise that it is worth all the hype - luscious, flavoursome and with a good finish. And, at a price where you don't have to have it just for special occassions.

This is a sly little number

This cheeky little number is quite sly on the side. It has the hints of blackberries with a small amount of Gosberys.
I really like this middle of the road wine.
