Spring Count

More springs mean a higher quality mattress. Mattresses with double layers of springs allow the top layer to shape to the body’s contours while the bottom layer absorbs weight distribution for the ultimate comfort and support.

Open Coil

The finest wire is used to produce a continuous link of open coil springs. The mattress is strong, durable and offers superb resilience, making for a traditional supportive feel.

Pocketed Springs

High-tensile steel is wound into individual springs which are sewn into their own hard-wearing pockets. Each spring moves independently to shape the mattress to your body's contours.

Coolmax®

These mattresses have a special stretch knit cover that helps to regulate body temperature and adds a soft, sumptuous feel.

Hand Side Stitching

Our mattress borders have up to three rows of hand stitching. This adds rigidity and support to the mattress's sides, extending the sleeping area to the edge.

Memory Foam

First developed by NASA, this revolutionary material moulds to your body's shape. It helps you to sleep soundly by reducing pressure on the parts of your body that take the most weight.

Pillowtop

A soft layer with luxurious fillings adds to the mattress's support, making your bed even more cosy and comfortable.

Test a Mattress

To test a mattress, spend some time lying on it on both your back and side. Try sliding your hands between the small of your back and the mattress. If the mattress is too soft, it will be difficult to slide your hands in, and if it's too hard, it will be very easy. With the right support, the fit will be snug.

Too firm if the mattress does not shape
to your body as you lie on top of it.

Too soft if you sink deeply into the
mattress and your back is not supported.

Correct support if your spine is striaght whileyour body contours are supported.

We test sample mattresses rigorously to make sure they remain comfortable for years. The fabric is rubbed 15,000 times against a hard surface to test resistance to wear, then machines pound the mattress 80,000 times and subject it to 20,000 rolls to simulate a sleeping person's movements.
