Things to Consider When Choosing a BBQ

Things to Consider When Choosing a BBQ

How many people will you usually cook for?

The cooking area of a barbecue gives an approximate guide to how many people it can cook for conveniently. This refers to the amount of space available on the main grilling surface and is usually measured in square centimetres.

Up to 4 people = around 1800 cm² Up to 6 people = around 2000 cm² to 2500 cm² ; Up to 8 people and more = over 2500 cm² ; if you opt for gas, also consider optional burners Up to 4 burners = 2 burners 5 people or more = 3 or more burners

If you cook for large groups, you may also want to consider a model with side burners and warming space. Remember that you do not have to use all of the burners at once, so cooking for smaller groups on a large gas barbecue needed mean wasting gas.

Things to Consider When Choosing a BBQ

Where will you be using your barbecue?

Will you be taking your barbecue camping and picnicking or always use it at home? The style of barbecue you choose should be determined by your available space and how portable you would like it to be.
