Winemaker Stephane Derenoncourt is a legend. He consults and makes wine the world over (from Bangalore to the Beqaa Valley) with a passion for the wines of Bordeaux and Saint-Emilion. Yet who would believe this son of a Dunkirk steelworker first hitchhiked to Bordeaux in pursuit of a girl? He just happened on wine quite by chance, and taught himself how to make it.
- And what wines he makes now! For this classic Saint-Emilion he has blended 40% Merlot with juicy ripe Cabernet Franc for a splash of rich vibrant red fruit character.
