ABOUT THIS WINE:With Jean-Marc's son Julien in charge of viticulture, and winemaker Frederic Gueguen married to Céline Brocard, it is very much a hands-on, family affair at the Brocard estate, where concern for the environment and minimal use of chemical treatments is at the heart of everything they do. By sourcing grapes from top quality sites in a little-known appellation, Frederic has been able to create for us an expressive wine with a delightful sense of place yet at a fraction of the price of great Chablis.

SERVING:Delicious served with seafood or roasted poultry.

KEEPING:This is delicious already and will continue to drink well over the next year. Once opened, store the resealed bottle in the refrigerator and consume within 2 days.

ABOUT THIS WINE:We have worked with the highly experienced Fabrice Robineau at Cave de Sancerre for many years now. So when we gave him a brief to create a 'Baby Brother' to sit alongside his superb Sancerre wines - always a real highlight in our range - we were fascinated to see what he came up with. The result has surpassed all our expectations. This is a wine that not only offers delightfully clean fruit flavours and vibrant acidity but also a real sense of place, which is rare to find at this price level.

SERVING:Given its moderate level of alcohol and lovely balance of fruit and mineral flavours, this wine works equally well as a refreshing aperitif or when served with dishes such as warm goat's cheese salad or king prawn tempura Grape variety: 100% Sauvignon blanc

Les Closiers Baby Brother Côtes du Rhône 2010


ABOUT THIS WINE: Didier Couturier is one of the Rhône Valley's most experienced and highly rated winemakers. We are very proud of our long-standing working relationship with Didier, who has supplied many of our Rhône wines over the years, and this is particularly the case with our new collaboration, the Baby Brother Côtes du Rhône. The idea behind this wine is to create a baby brother to Didier's delicious Châteauneuf-du-Pape, with all the hallmarks of this famous cru but at a fraction of the price. An experienced blender, Didier used fruit from across the region in a cooler than average vintage to create a concentrated yet unoaked and easy drinking style, a blend of mainly Grenache with some Syrah.

SERVING:Ideal with a plate of charcuterie, or grilled lamb cutlets served with Mediterranean ratatouille.

KEEPING:This is ready to drink now, but could be kept for 2 years. After opening, the bottle should be recorked, kept cool and finished within 24 hours.

Bordeaux Baby Brother 2009


ABOUT THIS WINE:In order to create the "Baby Brother" range, we challenged a select few winemakers in classic regions to create a wine for everyday drinking that mirrored the properties of their more illustrious stable mate. This graceful red was made for us by the well known Lucien Lurton family, famous for their perfumed reds from the prestigious Margaux appellation. The wine is made from mainly Merlot with some Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, all sourced from the heart of the Entre-Deux-Mers region. The 2006 vintage enjoyed a notably warm July and gave elegant, easy drinking wines.

SERVING:Enjoy this refined red with a herb-crusted rack of lamb or beef Wellington.

KEEPING:This is certainly ready to drink now, but could be kept for 3 years. After opening, the bottle should be recorked, kept cool and finished within 24 hours.
