Abbey Recliner (Manual)
Abbey reclines but not an armchair
Sadly we had to buy these two chairs unseen as they were not available to try in any M&S store. Loved the look from the Love Seat we were able to try. Build quality is good, fabric quality is very good. Recline position is good even if stiff to get there. But! As an arm chair there is no lumber support and the head support is totally devoid - the whole posture thing is wrong. I would like M&S to join me in some debate on this issue.

Beautiful leather furniture
I ordered 2 abbey leather recliners when they were on special offer so paid an excellent price. They are even nicer than they look in the picture, very opulent and expensive looking. The mechanism for the recliner is easy to use although as expected a bit stiff at first.
Unfortunately 1 of the chairs has to be replaced as on delivery the back did not fit right onto the body of the recliner (it comes in 2 parts). As always M&S staff dealt with the matter efficiently. Only downside it that I have to wait 6 weeks for replacement, however I have kept the original mean while.
I wish i had ordered the settee also when it was on offer.

Bad nights sleep? Catch up here.
Got this pair of alabaster leather recliners to go with my existing Boston leather Abbey sofa. I wanted manual recliners without a big ugly handle on the side and these 'push back while lifting your feet' fit the bill perfectly. No handles or knobs required! I've had them a few weeks and find them firm yet comfortable, easy to use and even at the normal sale price they'd be good value. Mine were on extra special offer and at around 1/3rd normal price they were a brilliant buy. They look like they'll last too.
