Rated 4 out of 5 by Momom good PE shorts
Great to find pure cotton shorts.
They are simple in style but look good on my 4 1/2 year old - legs are a bit on the long side but I bought the larger size (5 year olds) and I expect him to grow into them.
The shorts have washed well and have not faded or shrunk in the dryer.

Got these as I thought they'd be obviously different from the girls ones I bought last year for my daughter, but I can't tell any difference? Quite wide at the the bottom and in a stiffer material than you might expect. Waist band is quite a firm elastic so not the comfiest when they start to grow out of them or if your child is a little broader than the average around the middle. Last very well though.

As always, great quality product. My son is 4 years old, had to purchase size 5-6 as 4-5 was a bit small.

Rated 3 out of 5 by FigletsMum W-I-D-E waisted shorts.
As my son's pair of shorts from reception (about to go into year 3), now fit him nicely round the waist, his school PE t-shirt is now longer than his shorts, so I thought after three years use (worn well), he ought to have some longer shorts. However, now we are back to his original problem - they are much too wide, and I'm having to sew 1.5cm in at each side so the shorts stay up. Since M&S trousers come in adjustable waists, surely they could consider skinny kids waists bands on shorts too?
Secondly, why do M&S sell boys shorts in twin packs (really only need one pair), and girls shorts in singles?
