This is the more costly of the two versions of plain V-neck T-shirts I found at M&S, This sells as two for £15, the other is a 3-pack for less, as I remember. The 2-pack version are thick strong cloth, fit very well, with well-made seams, and the edge around the V-neck is solid and broad. In the past I have purchased some of the higher quality item and some of the lower priced / lower quality item, and there is no doubt in my mind that the higher quality item is worth more than the price difference would suggest. They last longer, despite many, many washings, and feel better when worn.

I have been using Marks & Spencer's Classic vests for many years. They were well made out of substantial material. There has always been problem with shrinkage over time and some of their substance was lost in the tumble dryer. My latest purchase - last week - was alarmingly flimsy.

I am surprised that people say that the V neck enables this vest to be worn with an open necked shirt without being seen. This is what I wanted but it is not my experience and I think that the V should be made deeper.

I bought these for my husband to wear under formal work shirts for the winter and they fit very nicely. Due to the V-neck, they are not visible under the shirt at all, which is great. I wish they did them in a grey colour too - to wear under lighter colour shirts, so you can't see the arms under the shirt. Good though - would buy again.

My husband loves these v-neck vests. The v is exactly the right length and does not dip into the chest as some other products do. The length is good and covers the lumps and bumps and the feel of the material is soft. Washing - it does not shrink. My husband is 74 years old and likes good quality products. This v -neck vest is suitable for any age. Excellent

If you know this quality of soft cotton, you come back to it time and time again. I used to wear the crew neck version, but as I've got older I now enjoy the V Neck. Same quality, same fit. Washing hot ( 90'c) keeps them super white and shrinkage is about 15%, so I buy one size larger than needed. I'm a generous medium and large fits perfectly after washing. One point, cotton balling.. it seems that the softer the cotton, the more tendency there is for tiny cotton balls to appear over time (gives a rough feeling). I avoid this by ALWAYS drying underwear on hangers and NEVER in the dryer!.... Tee Shirts and Underpants of this grade cotton last 4 times longer. Now you know. Perfect Item, highly recommended. I wear them with the same quality cotton two pack M&S White Y Fronts, equally good and very very comfortable indeed....

This is a great vest. Hugs close to the body to keep you warm, and good quality thick cotton for maximum comfort. The V neck feature is becoming harder to find unfortunately, but so useful in a short sleeve vest - means you can wear an open collar shirt over the top without the vest being visable. The sleeves on this are good and short also, meaning you can wear a lighter t-shirt over it again without the vest being visable. Great product - I hope they never stop making it.
